Prudent Investments
Lower Energy Consumption
The production of one tonne of graphite electrode typically requires approximately 3,600–4,800 kWh of electrical energy and 300–400 SCM of CNG/CBM. Graphite India Limited (GIL) continuously focuses on reducing its energy footprint through renewable energy adoption and energy-efficiency initiatives.
In Karnataka, GIL operates a 23 MW Hydel Power Plant and 5 MWp Solar Power Plant, generating over 72 million units of renewable electricity annually. In Maharashtra, the Company operates 18.9 MW Wind Power Capacity and 8.8 MWp Solar Power Capacity, generating more than 71 million units of renewable electricity annually.
These investments have increased the share of green energy in the Company's power mix, reducing dependence on conventional energy sources, lowering carbon emissions, and supporting sustainable graphite electrode manufacturing.

A bimonthly check of ambient and stack air by external agencies
The commissioning of incinerators to remove unwanted particles and products

The provision of acoustic enclosures to minimise noise levels from multifuel power generating sets and a bimonthly testing check

All workmen who work at height are provided with safety belts and they work under supervision of an engineer.
Safety Signage
Signboards indicate the necessity of safety devices and are displayed all over the plant for awareness.
Fire Safety
Fire extinguishers are installed at vulnerable locations. Regular training by qualified trainers is organized for fire fighting.
Equipment Inspection
Pressure vessels, storage tanks, and life tackles are regularly checked for load bearing capacities.
